Asia Dominates VIP Online Gambling, Europe Trails

A SoftSwiss survey reveals Asia’s VIP online gambling prominence, while Europe and Latin America thrive. Explore the key trends in iGaming.

Asia Leads the Way in VIP Online Gambling

Insights drawn from a study conducted by SoftSwiss, a global iGaming technology provider, unveil distinct trends across three major regions: Europe, Latin America, and Asia. While all three excel in online gaming, Asia stands out with a higher concentration of VIP betting.

Asia emerges as a front-runner in high-stakes online gambling, boasting a notable 71.6% of players who favor mobile betting. This preference surpasses that of Europe and Latin America. It’s important to note that the survey did not include the U.S. market.

On the flip side, the percentage of female players in Asia is significantly lower at 6.2%, indicating a gender distribution variance compared to Europe and Latin America. Despite its dominance in high-stakes gambling, Asia doesn’t claim the top spot in revenue generation.

Within the Asian demographic, players aged 31 to 40 stand out as the most prevalent group participating in projects powered by the SoftSwiss Casino Platform. Furthermore, slots remain the top choice, accounting for over 80% of all online gaming activity.

Europe Follows Closely

European players exhibit notably higher average spending in comparison to other regions. Europe’s dominance in the iGaming market can be attributed to its advanced infrastructure, robust regulatory framework, and the high disposable income of its population.

The diverse cultural landscape in Europe fuels the demand for various iGaming products and services, positioning it at the forefront of investment and financial success in the iGaming industry. Europe outpaces the growth and reach of Latin America and Asia by a significant margin.

Mobile devices are the preferred choice for betting in Europe, with 68.3% of individuals opting for their portable devices when gambling. Although the average amount wagered is lower than in Asia, it surpasses that of Latin America.

Despite gender identification not being obligatory in most online casinos, statistics indicate that nearly half of the player population (47%) consists of men.

Europe leads in terms of the proportion of female gamers, accounting for approximately 18.11% of the total, closely followed by Latin America. Asia isn’t far behind in this aspect.

The discrepancy between male and female gamers is influenced by the increasing presence of women in the European economy, reflecting their improved educational attainment and enhanced earning prospects.

In Europe’s contemporary digital landscape, a significant portion of Internet users falls within the 31 to 40 age bracket. This specific demographic exhibits a notable preference for slots, while card games and roulette claim the second and third spots, respectively.

Continued Growth in Latin America

The iGaming sector in Latin America showcases a promising future as more individuals embrace the convenience of online casinos and bookmakers, driving its continuous expansion. Several countries in the region envision significant growth as they adopt these regulations.

SoftSwiss Casino Platform’s data for Latin America, surpassing Europe’s numbers, reveals that a majority of active players (69.2%) use their mobile devices for online casino gambling.

In Latin America, men dominate the gaming scene, comprising the primary player base, with women accounting for only 17.4%. Within various age groups, the largest contingent falls within the 31-40 range, representing 20.8% of the overall population.

The Latin American gaming market has experienced rapid growth for several years, with countries like Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico driving expansion. Brazil’s efforts to reintroduce gambling could further propel the region’s growth.
