B1-Billion Gambling Site Busted: Raids in Bangkok & Prachin Buri

B1-Billion Gambling Operation Dismantled

Authorities have arrested four individuals connected to an illegal online gambling network that handled over 1 billion baht through its bank accounts. The operation included coordinated raids by the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) at five locations across Bangkok and Prachin Buri, leading to the confiscation of assets valued at approximately 5 million baht.

The seized items included cash, bank passbooks, deposit slips, ATM cards, a car, a laptop, and mobile phones, according to Pol Lt Gen Trairong Phiewpan, CCIB commissioner.

Pol Col Monchai Boonlert, commander of CCIB Division 2, revealed that the investigation uncovered two mule accounts used to funnel and collect money from the gambling website Juad888H.com. One account was registered under a legal entity, while the other belonged to a foreign national.

The four suspects—one man and three women—face charges of illegal online gambling and money laundering. Authorities are actively pursuing three additional suspects believed to be involved.

In a related case, CCIB police arrested two men suspected of operating mule accounts linked to another gambling site, which reportedly managed over 20 million baht in funds.

Chinese Nationals Arrested in Call-Scam Operation

In a separate operation in Tak province, highway police arrested nine Chinese nationals suspected of running a call-scam center in Wang Chao district, near the border with Myanmar.

The arrests followed a suspicious pickup truck attempting to evade a checkpoint on Highway 1 in tambon Pradang. Police pursued the vehicle and discovered seven parked pickups near a forest where about 20 Chinese nationals had gathered.

While most fled the scene in three of the trucks, nine suspects were apprehended, along with a Thai driver of one vehicle. Officers also seized approximately 110 mobile phones and 200 SIM cards as evidence.

The operations highlight the ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to crack down on illegal gambling and related criminal activities.
